Overview
In 5 days (5D/4N), it is possible to visit all the top attractions of Leh-Ladakh but you need to have a well optimized itinerary. Let us help you plan the best itinerary according to your interests.
Itinerary #1 is the same itinerary as in Express Leh-Ladakh tour package. After a day trip in the Sham region on the first day where you drive until Sangam, you embark on a 3-day road trip to Nubra valley and Pangong lake. On day 2 morning, head north from Leh to the Nubra valley via Khardung La pass (5,602m). In the afternoon, visit Diskit monastery and you can enjoy a camel safari at Hunder sand dunes. On day 3, after a stop at Sumur where you can visit Samstanling monastery, drive directly to Pangong lake via Shayok. On day 4, walk and relax at the lake in the morning light. Drive back towards Leh via Chang La pass and visit the main monasteries of the Indus valley such as Chemrey, Hemis, Thiksey and Shey. You will reach Leh city in the evening where you can have your last dinner in Ladakh before taking your departure flight the next morning.
Itinerary #2 is very similar to itinerary #1. The only difference is that in itinerary #2, the 3-day Nubra and Pangong tour is replaced by a 2-day Nubra tour and a 1-day Pangong tour. This means that instead of driving straight from Nubra to Pangong as in itinerary #1, you come back to Leh for the night between the Nubra tour and the Pangong tour. That’s the only small difference between these two itineraries, and that’s the reason why the price is nearly the same too.
Itinerary #3 is more relaxed, but the visit to the Nubra valley is not included in this itinerary. The first day is a free day in Leh where you can relax at your hotel and discover the city by yourself at your own pace. On day 2 and 3, explore extensively the Sham region, driving up to Kargil where you can spend the night. Finally, head on a day tour to Pangong lake on the fourth day and catch your departure flight from Leh on day 5.
In 5 days, you won’t have enough time to go to Tso Moriri lake. If you wish to see Tso Moriri and Tso Kar lakes, you need at least 6 days and preferably 7 days in Ladakh.
