Fantastic location, superb staff, and an owner who is incredibly helpful. I recommend opting for a room with a balcony; the view of the palace is truly amazing. We modified our tour plans upon reaching Leh, and the owner graciously rescheduled our dates at no additional cost. I highly recommend this place.

We spent 4 nights at New Royal Guest House in May. Having stayed in numerous hotels across India, none have been as helpful and accommodating as this cozy guest house, and we've experienced some 4-star hotels too. Gyatso, the manager, went above and beyond, even responding to my emails back in March when we were planning our trip—no one else has been this responsive. Right from the start, our stay was excellent. Gyatso took care of everything. The in-house restaurant offers a wide range of local Ladakhi and international cuisine, though the preparation might be a bit slow—they make everything from scratch, including the momos and noodles. It's true the internet can be tricky, so finish your big downloads before arriving. However, the hot water is efficient; just remember to turn on the boiler when you arrive—they keep it off to save energy and might forget to inform guests. Gyatso and the staff were incredibly respectful and courteous, making our stay thoroughly enjoyable. We'll definitely consider coming back on our next trip to Leh.

Breakfast is decent, but a bit more variety would be nice. It's a bummer they don't sell beer… Economical and satisfactory guest house, with friendly, helpful staff and a pleasant sun terrace offering a breathtaking view of the Stok mountain range, including one of the tallest mountains, Stok Kangri (6153m). The wifi works, but the internet in Leh (I mean, all of Leh) is often quite slow. The city center is within short walking distance, yet it's not in a bustling area, ensuring a quiet night without disturbances.

Had a fantastic experience during my stay. All the staff, especially Mr. Gyatso, were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. The room was lovely, with a cozy bed, warm blankets, and a private bathroom with a water heater. Mr. Dorjey's chicken fried rice from the guest house kitchen is now my absolute favorite. Eagerly anticipating a return someday :)
