Our time at Namra Hotel turned out to be an incredibly memorable experience. The entire family manages the hotel, and they treat every guest with the utmost care and affection. The hotel room exudes the feeling of staying in an ancient King and Queen Suite. Surrounded by a beautiful river, the premises feature apricots, walnuts, and apple trees, creating a heavenly atmosphere. Exploring Sham Valley is like discovering a hidden treasure, a highly recommended place. Originally planning just a one-night stay, we ended up extending it to three nights. Kudos to the owner and his family who made us feel right at home.

This hotel offers comfortable rooms and a nice outdoor sitting area for tea enthusiasts. The bathroom design, however, is not the most practical. Despite its spaciousness, there's no mechanism to prevent shower water from spreading all over the floor. It would have been better to install a drain beneath the shower, along with a ridge to contain the water within the room. Additionally, a small shelf or table could enhance the convenience. Dinner was satisfactory but not particularly memorable. On our check-out day, the owner served breakfast in a delightful room adorned with beautiful Ladakhi furnishings, followed by a visit to the family prayer room in the hotel. Wi-fi is accessible only in specific sitting areas.

Our visit to Namra Hotel was relaxing. The hotel property is nice, well-maintained, and offers excellent services. It is nestled amidst apricot, apple, and pear trees, exudes coziness. Surrounded by mountains and a river, the location provides a refreshing change. Despite our short stay, we truly enjoyed a relaxing time. The food was satisfying, although they only serve vegetarian meals. Their homemade apricot jam was a delightful treat. The hotel owner was incredibly friendly and cooperative.

Mr. Namra oversees the Namra guest house, and he is a very accommodating gentleman who manages this delightful property. We opted for the suite room, and it was incredibly comfortable, warm and cozy. The afternoon sunlight streaming into the room was delightful, creating a perfect spot for reading while enjoying the panoramic views through the picture windows. During the late weeks of May, crops were being planted, and the valley came alive with new beginnings. The short walks in the valley were charming, offering a spectacular view of the valley. The food at Namra was fantastic, particularly for us vegetarians. Cook Prem prepared some delectable dishes, we particularly enjoyed the vegetarian spring rolls! Namra also serves as a great base for day trips to visit monasteries. Fortunately, we had the chance to visit Alchi on the way, a highly recommended stop. It was a memorable stay, and our gratitude to Mr. Namra and all the staff.
