Lovely guesthouse with exceptional hospitality and fantastic views
We stayed in the room at the roof top. The room was fantastic, offering views of both the palace and a mosque from the windows. It was comfortable, the bathroom was great, and everything was impeccably clean. The staff here is fantastic and incredibly helpful. After a long day of sightseeing, unwinding in the garden was the perfect way to relax. Definitely recommending it to others.

Exceptional stay at Mentokling Guesthouse
Sonam, the host, is truly a wonderful person! Originally, we planned for a 2-night stay, but due to a change in our plans, we arrived a day earlier. Sonam was incredibly kind, offering assistance with accommodation, arranging a motorbike and permits through his contacts, and even went the extra mile to help us out of a tricky situation with a bike rental company. His genuine and friendly nature, coupled with the fantastic property for accommodation, made us feel right at home. We're happy to say we made a friend in the process and hope to visit again sometime! Julley - as they say in Ladakh.

Very good experience
We had a 3-day stay at Mentokling, and our experience was positive. The location is very convenient, close to the main market and Fort Road area (where the restaurants are), yet it's a peaceful place with nice city views from the top floors. The rooms were spacious, clean, well-maintained, and cozy. Bathrooms were also clean, well-ventilated, and provided hot running water. Comfortable beds and warm blankets ensured a good night's sleep. The WiFi coverage was widespread, and most of the time, it worked well. The service was friendly and helpful, offering excellent value for the price. The food at the connected Apple Garden Restaurant was enjoyable. We dined there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner multiple times. On each occasion, the food was freshly prepared, hot, and delicious. Special mention for the evening barbecue, which was delightful.

Great host
Mentokling is located in close proximity to the market, offering clean and spacious rooms. However, the real gem of this place is the host. Beyond being warm and helpful, he's a fantastic conversationalist. His father's stories are truly captivating, filled with adventure and courage. The view is decent, and the service is exceptional. It's undoubtedly a great choice for acclimatization in Leh, especially if you need a place to stay for a night before catching a flight back from Leh.
