Lotus Eco Resort is located in a quiet and peaceful area in Hunder village, surrounded by lush vegetation and beautiful mountains. The resort offers 12 traditional Ladakhi mud houses that are built using local materials with all modern facilities. All rooms are large, comfortable and clean with great views from the windows. In addition, the rooms have traditional fireplace and couches to keep their guests warm when the temperature dips. There is a large garden to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the view.

Great value for the money
Considering the cost in a somewhat remote spot like Hunder, the stay was entirely justified given the tariff. The dinner and breakfast served were delicious, and the staff proved to be very courteous and helpful. Notably, the package included evening tea, a feature lacking in the other Ladakh hotels we visited. Rooms are clean. Hot water is accessible through the 100-liter solar heater installed above each cottage. In case it's depleted, they do offer hot water in buckets upon request. However, there's a concern with the fireplace, as smoke tends to fill the room instead of exiting through the narrow exhaust. A suggestion would be to consider adding a sofa cum bed in the living room, which could serve as an extra bed. The provided extra bed is just a mattress, it may not be a comfortable sleep on the floor.

Top-notch experience at Lotus Eco Resort
Big cheers to the entire team at Lotus Eco Resort. This resort lingered in my thoughts long after the trip—a truly cozy and comfortable haven. The view is exceptionally pleasant, and the staff, a vibrant and cooperative bunch, left a lasting impression. It was refreshing to witness youthful energy driving the business, and their friendliness, helpfulness, and proactive approach were truly commendable.
The rooms, nestled in cottages, come in pairs, and believe me, they are generously spacious. With a porch area, a relaxing space, and a master bed, the design is simply delightful. We fell in love with it the moment we stepped in. Feeling exhausted, we opted for in-room dining, and the food was not just good but delicious. Hot water for a bath and a provision of thermos for drinking water – a super cool touch.
The dining area has a cozy and warm atmosphere. Since we were a small group, they served food directly to the table, and I must say, it was exceptionally tasty. I instantly appreciated the flavor and quality of the food. Overall, the resort emanates a positive vibe, blending a touch of Tibetan culture with modern tunes playing softly in the background, friendly and smiling staff, warm rooms, super comfy beds, and delicious food. What more could you ask for from a resort?

Exceptional staff
The staff here is highly cooperative, and I genuinely believe that a year or so down the line, this will be the finest hotel in the entire Nubra Valley. The manager is incredibly helpful! Moreover, the food served is quite good. I must highlight the eco-friendly aspect of this resort; the environment is lovely. There's even a designated area for a campfire, and a charming little river runs through the resort.
